ITANAGAR, Jun 2:  The Capital Police has submitted the chargesheet in the alleged sexual assault case registered under WPS case No. 50/2023, u/s 376/506 IPC. The accused, Milli Tachak, who currently holds the position of Kamle District Students Union (KDSU) President, is under police custody.
Capital Superintendent of Police, Jimmy Chiram, confirmed the submission of the chargesheet and added that supplementary chargesheets would be filed once the Forensic Science Laboratory test report arrives. The report will provide vital evidence and further support the ongoing investigation.
Moreover, as per the provisions of 161 & 164 CrPC, police have recorded statements related to the alleged forceful rape incident. The incident occurred on May 22 last and was reported by the victim, leading to the registration of a case.
The accused, Milli Tachak, is facing multiple charges and is currently being held by the police pending further legal proceedings. Earlier, the All Wancho Women Welfare Society (AWWWS) had filed an FIR against the accused, urging for strict punishment in accordance with the law. Additionally, the Arunachal Pradesh Women's Welfare Society (APWWS) also strongly condemned the rape and has urged the police to expedite the investigation.
