DOIMUKH, Mar 30: Papum Pare Police arrested the manager of a private swimming pool who fled away with cash from Shillong today.
Earlier a complaint was lodged by one Tana Tamar Tara, a resident of Midpu-II, Doimukh, that Paul Debbarma, a native of Agartala, who was working as a manager in his swimming pool at Midpu, had fled with Rs. 6,80,000 on March 23 last.
Police registered a case DMK/PS/Case No. 16/2022 u/s 406 IPC and a team was constituted consisting of SI Balkar Singh, HC - TD Goiba, Constables, M Thapa, and H Dutta. The police team under the active guidance of SDPO Doimukh, Bomken Basar, and the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Papum Pare Dr. Neelam Nega, raided various suspected locations and finally arrested Debbarma from Shillong with the help of Meghalaya Police.
During interrogation he confessed to committing the crime. He was produced at Yupia court and has been sent to police custody for two days, police told.
Meanwhile, SP Papum Pare appealed to the local entrepreneurs and business community to conduct character checks and verify identities before employing individuals.
