Itanagar, Oct 21: Police Commemoration Day was observed on Wednesday at various headquarters of the state through laying of tributes to all the police personnel who laid down their lives while securing the safety of citizens.
NDRF Itanagar observed the day at Battalion Hqr Doimukh. Commandant, 12th Bn NDRF Rajesh Thakur along with other officers of the unit paid tribute to the police personnel who laid down their lives for the country. A one-minute silence was observed by all personnel of the battalion in memory of their valiant colleagues.
In Tirap, the day was observed at Circle headquarter, Dadam by paying homage to the martyrs Khundong Siksa (HC) and Ponhang Agi (CT), both of whom were killed in an ambush near the Pansumthong village along with Late MLA Tirong Aboh and 8 others on the fateful day of May 21, 2019. The commemoration was organised by the District Police led by SP Kardak Riba. ADC Khonsa K.Tikak and CO Dadam Pik Tayom also participated in the programme and paid homage to their brave colleagues. The family members of the martyrs led by their wives, sons, the Raja and GB of Dadam and well-wishers joined the event by paying homage to the portraits.
The SP extended gratitude to the family members of the martyrs for participating in the programme and encouraging the men in uniform. NDRF, DIPRO
