Aalo, Nov 15: The foundation stone for the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Kombo, West Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh, was ceremonially laid today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conference. The project is being undertaken under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs with the aim of providing quality education and holistic development opportunities to tribal students of the region.
The virtual foundation-laying event was also attended by Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. KT Parnaik (Retd) and. Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Addressing the gathering, the leaders highlighted the significance of EMRS in enhancing educational infrastructure in tribal-dominated regions and empowering the youth with modern academic and residential facilities. The school at Kombo is expected to cater to students from various villages of West Siang, providing them a conducive learning environment equipped with modern amenities.
