ITANAGAR, Dec 11: With PR and Municipal elections just 10 days away from now, intensive training for the polling personnel comprising Presiding and Polling officers, Sectoral-cum-Special Executive Magistrates and others are on across districts.
In West Siang, as part of phase-wise election training of polling officials, the first phase for Presiding and Polling officers was conducted at Kamba on December 10 last. ADOs Yompe Ado and Jarni Yomcha and CDPO Bahi Koyu imparted training on the dos and don’ts, handling of ballot boxes, Covid-19 SOPs and other election matters to all officials at Gumin Kiin. Campaigns have also picked momentum in the Zilla and GP segments of the district.
In West Kameng, training-cum-briefing of duties for the Sectoral-cum-Special Executive Magistrates was held today here at the Conference Hall of Circuit House under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (PR) Karma Leki.
While urging the trainees to perform the assigned poll duties with caution keeping special vigil on maintenance of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), the DC-cum-DEO urged them to maintain all COVID SOPs during the entire election process by making proper use of masks, sanitizers, gloves etc. provided by the government. Informing them that almost all the polling stations in the district are accessible through vehicles, Leki highlighted the decentralized structure of functions and processes that has been introduced by the Election Commission of India with the aim of making the elections smooth and error-free. The trainees and officials were asked not to leave their respective stations without proper permission.
CO (J)-cum-Nodal Officer, MCC Kesang Wangda informed that polling sectors will be allocated to the respective Special Executive Magistrates after randomization by the Central Election Observer. DIPRO
