LIKABALI, Jul 27:An awareness campaign on wildlife, forest and environmental protection was organized at Magi village by the Likabali Forest Division in collaboration with an NGO, Eco-Friendly Society.

The programme aimed to create awareness among the villagers residing in the periphery of the Kane wildlife Sanctuary about importance of protection, and conservation of flora and fauna for survival.

On the occasion, the officials from Forest Department exhorted the villagers to come forward and work under one umbrella with the department for protection of flora and fauna in the sanctuary.

On the other hand, NGO members exhorted the villagers to become protectors of wildlife and emphasized on further development and beautification of a natural lake located some 8km from the village for tourism purpose.
