Earlier, addressing the gathering event media partner-cum-senior journalist Pradeep Kumar said that during a two-day NE conference ( May 21 & 22) of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH) at Shillong in 2009 as NYP vice president he advocated that People With Disability should be called as People With Special Abilities (PWSAs).
Interestingly, Union Minister for Skill Development & Employments (MoSDE) & Petroleum Darmendra Pradhan on May 3, 2018 had given a clarion call to name divangjyans   as PWSAs instead of calling them PwDs for the world to emulate. Pradhan was addressing the maiden day-long national workshop on skill development for PWSAs at New Delhi which was attended by over 350 officers of central & state Govt, AYJNIHH besides skill training providers including NYP president H P Biswas and vice president Kumar.
Total  Indian PWSAs population is around five to six crore with Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MoSJE) deciding to divide them into 21 categories in place of seven along with raising job reservation from 3%to 4%.
