TEZU, Jul 4: Over a thousand Gorkhas took to the streets in a peaceful rally held to extend solidarity for the demand of Gorkhaland.

The rally was organized under the unified banner of Himalaya Samaj Kalyan Samiti (HSKS), Hamro Swabhiman, IGG College Gorkha Student Union and All Arunachal Pradesh Gorkha Welfare Association Alubari.
Participants displayed banners and placards depicting slogans ‘We want justice, demand for Gorkhaland is our birth right’, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Jai Gorkhali’, ‘we want peaceful solution’ and so forth. Later, a 2 minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the three martyrs who had scarified their lives recently in the agitation for the greater interest of the Gorkhaland.

“We are bringing out this peaceful rally to express our deepest and full support for creation of separate Gorkhaland which is a long felt demand of our community. We in Arunachal are serious concern over the lackadaisical attitude of central govt. in resolving the much awaited demand of the hills people”, said Durba Gurung President HSKS Lohit.

This time we have full faith on the BJP led NDA government under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi, he added.
He also extended heartfelt gratitude to Dr Mohesh Chai the Local MLA & Minister, DC, SP, Police personnel, local organizations and well wishers who supported to make the rally successful.
