PASIGHAT, Aug 29: As part of the ‘Smart Cities Mission of Cycle for Change’ initiative of the Central government, local MLA Kaling Moyong and DC East Siang Dr. Kinny Singh on Saturday flagged off a cycle rally in the morning here from Medical Chariali which was participated by youths and people from all walks of life.
The rally which culminated at the Gandhi Chowk, Pasighat Bazar coincided with the National Sports Day and was organized by the Pasighat Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. (PSCDCL) in collaboration with East Siang Cycle Association. PSCDCL aims to boost cycling culture among citizens as an eco-friendly mode of transport and a tool for healthy lifestyle. CEO, PSCDCL Sukhvinder Singh, EE PMC, Kipa Gagung, officers and staff of Pasighat Smart City and HoDs joined the rally.
It needs mentioning that ‘India Cycles for Change’ has been launched under the Smart Cities Mission by the Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs as part of the cycling movement in cities to implement cycle-friendly initiatives in response to Covid-19 and sustainable development. DIPRO
