ITANAGAR, May 14:  Office of the Superintending Engineer (E), SO & PSC, State Load Despatch Centre through its press release on Friday has informed that starting May 17 there will be intermittent shut down of the Pasighat-Roing 132 KV Transmission Line for recommencing the essential repair works that has remained halted since last year due to the first wave of Covid pandemic.
It can be recalled that due to washing away of the Transmission Tower No 213 on the Pasighat-Roing 132 KV Transmission line in 2020 amidst the 1st wave of Covid-19, power supply to the eastern part of the state from Pasighat has since been maintained through an ERS (Emergency Restoration System). However, the ERS has become severely endangered by erosion caused by Dotung river near Loklung village in Lower Dibang valley, about 8 km from Gadum Tinali, needing urgent repair.  As such, the proposed shut down of the Pasighat-Roing 132 KV Transmission Line shall be carried out in the following phases: 1st Phase: 17/05/2021 to 18/05/2021 for 32 hrs- Shutdown starts from 0800hrs of 17/05/2021 up to 1600hrs of 18/05/2021(Shutdown to be returned latest by 1600 Hrs of 18/05/2021 and remain until 0800 Hrs of 20/05/2021). 2nd Phase: 20/05/2021 to 21/05/2021 for 32 Hrs- Shutdown starts from 0800 Hrs of 20/05/2021 up to 1600 hrs of 21/05/2021(Shutdown to be returned latest by 1600 Hrs of 21/05/2021 and remain until 0800 Hrs of 23/05/2021). 3rd Phase: 23/05/2021 to 24/05/2021 for 32 hrs- (Shutdown starts from 0800 hrs of 23/05/2021 up to 1600 hrs of 24/05/2021, to be returned latest by 1600 hrs of 24/05/2021.
All district authorities have been asked to make appropriate contingency plans as per local conditions and ensure there are no power cuts to CCCs, DCHs, oxygen plants etc.
