ITANAGAR, May 21: In relation to the ongoing Pasighat-Roing 132 KV transmission line repair works that commenced on May 17 last, the office of the Superintending Engineer (E), SO & PSC, State Load Despatch Centre through a fresh notification today informed that due to sweeping away of one of the conductors of the said transmission line by the flooding river, withdrawal of the proposed 2nd phase shutdown will not be possible as notified earlier.
Restoration of line is uncertain if rain continues to fall and flood water does not recede, the notification said, adding that flood water resulted in the conductor to fall from the motor boat used for shifting materials from the endangered ERS to the new ERS. As a result, power supply to the affected districts during this period will be maintained partially through the Rupai-Namsai 33 KV inter-state transmission line.
Concerned authorities of the affected districts of Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai, namely the Deputy Commissioners, District Medical Officers and Power Department authorities have been  requested to continue with the contingency plans for ensuring continuous  supply of electricity to hospitals, Covid Care Centres and oxygen plants.
