ITANAGAR, Jul 15: The whereabouts of the woman who reportedly went missing after her Mahindra Scorpio skidded off the road and fell into Pare river in Papum Pare district on Wednesday is still to be ascertained.
The missing woman has been identified as Amak Dolo (29) from Bodo village of Sawa Circle in East Kameng district. On the day of the incident, a team of 12 NDRF after reaching the site launched a search and rescue operation and covered approx 200 meters but without any result. The operation resumed today with the help rope and magnet and this time a larger area measuring approx 500 meters from the incident site and the suspected places up to 10 km downstream were covered. However, neither the missing woman nor her vehicle could be traced. According to the NDRF rescuers, strong flow of the river water might have washed away the vehicle and its occupant downstream towards Pare dam.
After discussion with the District Administration, the team reached the Pare dam site and a new search operation with the help of boats has been initiated.
