YUPIA, Jul 27: In an effort to keep a strict vigil on traffic violators and anti-social elements in Papumpare district, an emergency meeting was held today at the office of the Superintendent of Police Yupia, which was attended by the rank and file of the police department.

During the meeting, SP Papumpare, Tumme Amo asked the officers to take strict action on traffic violators by invoking proper challan, seizing vehicles etc. He also directed them to hand over violators to the court as per the laid down norms.

Also taking note of illegal sale of alcohol which lures teenagers and often results in law and order problems, the SP directed his subordinates to conduct frequent checking in various probable spots.

Also regarding the Assam – Arunachal boundary areas, Amo briefed the In-charge of all the Check Gates to be alert and cautious to thwart the entry of anti-social elements .He further advised the officers to routinely update report through video footage about the vehicular movements.

Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Yupia, Neelam Nega also suggested keeping drums at Check gates and other places of Naka to control the speed limits of vehicles at checking points.

Meanwhile, Amo also extended his gratitude to the police team for their prompt and selfless services during the recent chopper crash at Toru and landslide at Laptap.

Meeting was also attended by  OC Sagalee - Kipa Hamak, OC Kimin, SI Nabam Hadh, OC Balijan - SI Bumchu Krong, OC Doimukh - SI Padi Payeng, and others.
