YUPIA, Jul 11: The Papum Pare Police today arrested three persons with Marijuana more than 36 kilograms.
On receiving information from a reliable source that a huge consignment of Marijuana (Ganja) is arriving from Mengio in two motorcycles, SP Papum Pare Dr. Neelam Nega immediately formed a team lead by Bomken Basar, SDPO Doimukh and laid a trap and followed the suspected motorcycles which lead to the residence of one Chukhu Jibi at Yupia.
A search was conducted along with magistrate and independent witness at the residence and three bags of suspected Ganja was recovered weighing 36.722 kg.
The two persons who brought the ganja from Mengio were identified as R. Kakum and T. Choya both 18 years and are residents of Mengio area. They were arrested along with Chukhu Jibi and bikes used by them also seized, DIPRO report said.
Papum Pare Rural District Police appeals public to stay away from any kind of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances including ganja, the release said.
