Yupia, Nov 2: The Deputy Commissioner-Cum- Chairman District Health Society, Papum Pare, Pige Ligu today chaired District Task Force for Immunization (DFTI) meeting on special immunization drive to achieve 90% full immunization on Routine Immunization (RI) and COVID-19 vaccination by March 2022.
Presiding over the meeting, he lauded the health workers of the district for their hard work and sincerity in conducting vaccination drive smoothly in the district. He also exhorted them to maintain same tempo of their service towards mankind and give their best to achieve the target set by the government as well as to remain alert and well prepared for any eventualities.
He also asked the DMO to streamline the tracking system at various blocks of the district by engaging the MO i/cs, and grass root level workers like ASHAs and Anganwadis to track the beneficiaries and to rectify the discrepancies in data.
District Medical Officer Dr.K.Perme presented the status of COVID-19 Vaccination of Papum Pare district and emphasised upon the need for proper monitoring through tracking system by house to house visit to ascertain that no beneficiaries of COVID-19 Vaccine should be left out in all blocks.
Adding to it, he requested the Medical Officer In-Charges to review and find out the reasons behind reluctancy of people in coming out for COVID-19 vaccination. Dr. Perme also stressed on the need to boost IEC activities including miking in different localities to create awareness among people on vaccination and COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
The house also discussed about the strategies for special drive for routine immunization to achieve 90% immunization by March 2022.
District Epidemiologist Ili Angu also presented status of National control Tobacco Programme of Papum Pare district and informed that till date 10 Schools have been declared as Tobacco Education Free Institutes [TOEFI] in Papum Pare District and intensive awareness campaign have been done in various schools as a part of IEC activities.
Representatives from Education and ICDS department, programme officers like DRCHO, DANO, DSO, Medical Officers In-Charges of all health facility and staff attended the meeting. DIPRO
