Yupia, Apr 5: Director, Disaster Management Abu Tayeng along with DC Papum Pare Pige Ligu, SP Jimmy Chiram and DDMO In-charge T.M Tara on Sunday visited the two designated relief camps here to take stock of the overall arrangements.
The said relief camps have been arranged at the Urban Development Shopping Complex and at Government Primary School which will shelter and facilitate homeless persons including migrant labourers currently stranded due to the lockdown. As on date, 63 migrant labourers have been given shelter in both these camps- 42 in the former and 21 in the latter. The DA along with the line departments are working round the clock in providing food, basic amenities, healthcare facilities, security and awareness on Covid-19 .
Meanwhile, a team of doctors comprising the Coordinating Officer for Quarantine Centre Dr. Gomi Basar and Co-ordinator, Contact Tracing and Flying Squad Dr. Kabak Tamar visited the quarantine centre at Yupia, relief camps, residential areas for on-duty doctors and staff, Covid-19 Control Room and Dr. Subu Tasso Kampu briefed the team on overall preparations. After a thorough inspection of all arrangements, team leader Dr. Basar expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and informed that the quarantine centre at Yupia will be the second centre in Papum Pare and Itanagar Capital Complex which is likely to be ready soon. He also pointed out the need for arrangement of 24x7 security at the quarantine facility and ensuring of all necessary requirements for the quarantined persons, doctors and supporting staff and advised the DMO to discuss the issues with DMO ICC.
Later, they also interacted with the migrant labourers and enquired about their travel history and health problems in details and sensitized them on Covid-19 and the need for maintaining personal hygiene and social distancing. DIPRO
