Yupia, Nov 6: In view of the ensuing PR election and for devising a preliminary plan for its smooth conduct in Papum Pare district, DC-cum-DEO (PR) Pige Ligu on Friday convened a meeting with all the Administrative Officers of outposts and headquarters here at the DC’s conference hall.
Instructing all the ROs and AROs to conduct the upcoming PR election in their respective jurisdiction judiciously and peacefully, the DC also took suggestions and inputs from them. Elaborating on the earlier experiences of conducting elections, he emphasized the need to be thorough in PR Election Rules and Regulations and instructed the ROs to make advance preparations. The senior Administrative Officers were instructed to impart adequate training to the newly inducted COs. ADC cum DPDO Tabang Bodung sought suggestions from the members regarding the arrangements required to be made in the district and asked the ROs and AROs to start preparations forthwith.
Important points that were discussed elaborately were movement plans, distance of polling stations from district headquarters, booth sensitivity, road and mobile network connectivity, requirement of vehicles, availability of staff, status of polling stations and related miscellaneous matters.The ADCs, SDOs, EACs have been asked to train the newly posted COs about PR Election Rules and Regulations properly so that they can keep themselves abreast to face the election properly.
It was further decided that counting centres will be identified and kept in readiness along with training of all officials engaged in the election process. Concerned officials were instructed to make assessment of vehicle requirements and the ROs and AROs were directed to bring into notice any shortage of staff at the earliest.
The EAC (PR) sought cooperation from all for peaceful and successful conduct of the ensuing election in the district. DIPRO
