NAHARLAGUN, Jul 7: Oju Welfare Association (OWA) today celebrated the 65th birth anniversary of its Founder Chairperson, Padmashree awardee late Dr. Binny Yanga through a mass plantation drive here at the Oju Mission School in presence of its current Chairperson Ratan Anya, several dignitaries and well-wishers.
Chairperson, Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) Gumri Ringu was the Chief Guest. APSCPCR Member Secretary K Lomi, members Advocate Ngurang Achung and Y Taksing, Joint Secretary, Health & Family Welfare and Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) Mamta Riba and Chairman, People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) Kameng Ringu who donated land for the OMS were present in the mass plantation drive wherein all types of fruit-bearing and ornamental plants were planted within the school’s campus. Ratan Anya disclosed that the initiative was an effort to pay tribute to the late Founder Chairperson who always loved greenery around the surroundings, adding that such plantation drives shall be conducted every year at various schools and localities within the Capital Complex to mark her birth anniversary.
Teaching and non-teaching staff of the OMS and their family members joined the event.
