Tezu, Oct 20: The outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Lohit, Prince Dhawan was accorded an emotional farewell here at the Lohit House by a team of representatives of various civil societies of the district on Sunday last.
The team which comprised Mishmi Women's Welfare Society led by Shibali Yun and Ibulu Mam, CALSOM represented by Yalum Ama and All Mishmi Students’ Union represented by Legem Takaliang and Chokhiya Tayeng, called on the outgoing DC and his wife Dr Ridhi Dhawan to bid adieu. They said the district’s people will remember the DC for his pioneering initiatives during his 19-month tenure in improving the infrastructure of Zonal General Hospital Tezu, reviving the defunct drug de-addiction centre, completion of Haju RCC bridge, commencement of AP State Transport bus service for villagers of remote Kathan and Tilangkyong villages, Circle level Jan Suvidhas for Wakro and Sunpura, solar power facility for nine rural government schools, revival of the APMC market, promotion of four FPOs, efficient management in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic and maintenance of law and order.
