Yupia, Feb 6: Two days long District Orientation on Operationalization of Health and Wellness Centres organised by Papum Pare District Health Society began today in ZPC Hall, Yupia attended by medical officer in-charges of PHCs, CHCs, health and wellness officers and ANMs.
At the very outset, the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman District Health Society Dr. Joram Beda,IAS handed over the tablets to ANMs of the district. In-Charge ADC, Yupia Jummar Bam who also attended the programme also spoke on the occasion and requested the participants to take benefit of the training program on HWCs.
Addressing the participants, District Medical Officer Dr. Tasso Kampu Subu highlighted the concept of health and wellness centres and their importance. She requested all MO i/cs to remain proactive without any communication gap between the officers and ensure complete transparency while implementing the HWCs in all health facilities. She also informed that a strong monitoring team will be constituted to monitor and supervise the programme and called upon the participants to give their best efforts to make Papum Pare district a model one. DRCHO Dr.Worar Taku also spoke on the occasion and welcomed the partcipants.
During the first technical session, Assistant Nodal Officer HWC Dr.Dipu Lowang gave presentation on Block Saturation and Selection of Health Facility and JHPEIGO team gave presentations on functionality of HWC- infrastructures and branding of HWCs, human resources including MLHP, Community Outreach ( in Co-located SHC), IT system, diagnostics, medicines, training and services and an overview of BPCCHN
In the afternoon session participants were given training on IT, HWC-UPHC, HWC Portal entry by state team and Tata Trust. There are 17 HWCs in Papum Pare District and 9 health and wellness officers in the district.
Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) have been conceptualized to provide Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC), which ensures the highest possible level health and well being of all ages, through a set of preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative services.
Under the Ayushmaan Bharat initiative, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare targets to upgrade 1.5 lakhs Sub-Centres (SCs) and all existing Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Urban PHCs(UPHCs) across the country to HWCs in a phased manner by December 2022.
