ITANAGAR, Jun 28: The All Pipu Gwawepurang Chyang Tajo Gawe Purang Sawa Students’ Union (APCGSSU), All Pipu Gwawepurang Youth Welfare Association (APGYWA) and Voice of North-East (VNE) in separate representations submitted to the commissioner (Home) and SP Capital has asked the officials to immediately arrest all the culprits involved in the alleged ‘cold-blooded murder’ of one Papung Nayu in a city hotel here a few days ago.
While demanding exemplary punishment to all the culprits involved in the alleged crime, the organisations have further threatened to launch a democratic movement if the arrests are not made within a week.
The lifeless body of 29-year-old Papung who belonged to Hari Niablam village in Pipu of Circle of East Kameng district was recovered under mysterious circumstances from the terrace of the ground floor of the hotel on June 24 last.
Police had then arrested two persons namely Toki Taloh and Yumli Padu in connection with the case and produced them before the CJM court in Yupia on June 26 last.
One person from Nagaland was also questioned regarding the case, while another from Manipur has been called for questioning as per the police. Both came to Itanagar regarding a car deal with Papung.
Meanwhile, OC T Bage, when contacted informed that both Toki and Yumli are on a 5 day police remand and the post mortem reports of the deceased is being awaited.
