Seijosa, Aug 5: Situated on the fringes of Pakke Kessang district bordering Assam, Seijosa has always been a place of neglect in terms of developmental activities. But the agriculture sector is slowly picking pace with the formation of Kameng Organic Farmers' Producer Company Limited, which is a part of Mission Organic Value Chain Development for NER by Ministry of Agriculture and Family Welfare.
The said company is growing turmeric through organic method and observing the potential of organic farming and to encourage facilities for collection, processing and marketing, the Department of Agriculture has handed over a Tata Pickup truck to the company manager Takam Nabam. The key handing ceremony was done through the Pakke Kessang DC Tamuna Messar in presence of administrative officers, local people and farmers. The event was aimed to motivate the organic farmers to successfully carry out farming and become commercially independent since organic products ensure better market returns.
The event was the outcome of the combined efforts of the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Nokliam Sumnyam, Seppa ADO, J.U. Bahar, Seijosa ADO, Subi Taba and Service Provider of the scheme Tushar Ghosh, through Oppo Engineering & Agro Service.
