ITANAGAR, Aug 3:In a three point memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary, the Arunachal Pradesh Abo-Tani Clans Youth Organization (APATCYO) has demanded constitution of Abo- Tani Autonomous Council in the state.

Justifying its demand, the union claimed that being the most populated tribe of the state, the Tani dominated areas like Pasighat and Itanagar etc are being deprived in the field of infrastructure development since many years.

Most of the centrally sponsored funds and state funds meant for development of Tani areas are being diverted to others areas, it added.

Also demanding concrete measures against refugees illegally settling in the state, the union stated that the increasing number of refugees is posing threat to the very existence of indigenous people and requested the concern authority to tighten security and vigilance in areas bordering Tibet.

Further it sought clarification from the Chief Minister for cancelling the recruitment of JEs of RWD and handing over to APPSC. How can he (CM) give the approval to APPSC to conduct the interview as the commission conducts examination only for Gazetted posts and JEs do not come under this rank, it questioned?

In the meantime, the union also accused Joint director of Art & culture department for picking three persons for the post of Social Cultural Organizer (SCO) without conducting any interview violating laid down norms and conditions of recruitment rules (RR).
