PACHIN, Mar 26: The girls hostel at Abotani Vidya Niketan, Pachin constructed by Oil & Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) was inaugurated today by Minister Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Alo Libang. The hostel with a capacity of 25 has been constructed at a cost of 25 lakh in its first phase.

Under CSR, the ONGC has approved and sanctioned two more girls hostels—at Ziro and Pasighat. The hostel at Pachin has been inaugurated and the other two are nearing completion.  A total of 1.2 Crore has been earmarked for the purpose and another hostel has also been proposed at Pachin.

Appreciating the ONGC, chief guest Alo Libang also lauded the role of Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti in the field of education and said that without education in the digital world we cannot do anything. ‘Investment in education is a recurring deposit and the produce will be our future children who will pass out from here and will serve society.’

Chairman, AboTani Vidya Niketan, and Former BJP President Tai Tagak while throwing light said that there are a total 28 such schools in the state and lauded the role of the public and their cooperation.

Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti, Secretary Nabam Ruja in his address said that the 28 schools in different parts of the state are doing well without any grant but with the support of well wishers.

Guest of Honour Chief Engineer cum Director Urban Development Taba Tedir, Former MLA Larbin Nasi, ASVS State Coordinator M.N Chaturvedi, ATVN Principal Sukumaran K, Itanagar PHED Executive Engineer Tadar Mangku, VHP Leader Pramod Joshi, Pachin welfare committee President Tadar Tania, BJP Vice President Kenyir Ringu among others were present on the occasion.

Later the dignitaries also participated in tree plantation at  the school campus.
