TATO, Dec 19: A meeting to discuss the ways and means for implementation of the ‘One District, One Product’ scheme in Shi-Yomi district was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi at his office chamber on December 17 last.
The DC informed that under the scheme, farmers of the district as individuals or groups can avail loan up to Rs.10 lakh, of which 35% would be government subsidy. Kiwi and red potatoes being produced in abundance in the district were recommended as export products and the Craft Centre in Mechuka was identified as the District Skill Nodal Centre.
Deputy Director of Industries Gomar Angu, Branch Manager SBI Mechuka Raj Basumatary, DFDO Tapan Dutta and other officials were present in the meeting. DIPRO
