WAKRO, Mar 20: The Oil India Limited will happily support the cause of education and social welfare in rural Wakro, said Resident Chief Executive, OIL, Prasanta Borkakoty while interacting with students and teachers at Apna Vidya Bhawan.
Renowned social leader Sohan Krong greeted the RCE and a report "Ideal Parenting- the Indian Army shows the way" was presented to him which details the contributions made by the Indian Army, particularly by the Dao Division and the army brigade deployed in the region. 
In his speech the OIL chief lauded the Indian Army for supporting the education of children in particular and social welfare in general. The Indian Army is always available, be it during Floods in J&K, cyclone in Orissa, or any natural calamity in any part of the country or the world, to help, rescue and serve with dedication. Borkakoty assured that the Oil India Limited will always be happy to contribute for the welfare of the soldiers guarding our frontiers.
He further exhorted the young learners to reflect on three magical words toil, persistence and determination to excel and succeed in life. 
Attending the function on behalf of Maj Gen Dheerendra Singh Kushwah, SM, GOC of the Army Division, Col Sushil Rana, CO 7 Sikh handed over a cheque of Rs four lakh fifty thousand as assistance for the Apna Vidya Bhavan. 
The financial assistance offered to the Apna Vidya Bhavan under the Maiyya Shanta Prakalp of the Anu Shiksha Seva Trust is an annual contribution rendered to the school with support from the Sat Bhavana Trust, Mumbai on a regular basis. The CO 7 Sikh also handed over a cheque of Rs Thirty five thousand to an Apne which regularly comes as contribution and care of Indu Rao for a child in need of care.
