ITANAGAR, Sep 30: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) will organize a protest rally at Itanagar and sit-in protests outside the Deputy Commissioners offices in all the districts of the state on October 5 next to register its protest on the “offspring” issue.
This was decided in an emergency meeting of the All Arunachal Pradesh Student's Union (AAPSU) held under the chairmanship of its President Hawa Bagang at Itanagar on Wednesday to discuss regarding the vexed issue of off-springs born to APST mother and Non-APST father. The house unanimously condemned the cancellation of the meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) on the issue which was supposed to be held on September 29.
The members present took serious exception to the lackadaisical attitude, inordinate delays and dilly dallying tactics adopted by the Department of SJETA in coming out with a draft form of the proposed legislation on the "offspring" issue as demanded by the Union since 2018.
