Manmao, Aug 22: In a bid to ensure quality implementation of the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Scheme, Assistant Commissioner of Manmao subdivision, D.K. Thungdok, carried out a surprise inspection across several schools today.
The inspection covered Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Manmao, Government Primary School (GPS) Manmao, New Kamlao, Old Kamlao, New Dokpey, and Lungshang. During his visit, Thungdok interacted with students and staff to review the quality, taste, and overall implementation of the scheme.
At GHSS Manmao, the midday meal was found to be of good quality and well received by students. The Assistant Commissioner also noted the addition of a newly constructed dining shed, built under the Pradhan Mantri Mid-Day Meal Scheme by the Rural Works Department (RWD), which has further improved facilities for students.
Thungdok lauded the school authorities and teaching staff for maintaining punctuality, discipline, and effective execution of welfare programmes.
Highlighting the role of nutrition in education, Thungdok stressed that nutritious meals are crucial for children’s health and learning outcomes. He called on all stakeholders to ensure consistency in quality and regular monitoring of the scheme for the betterment of students.
