PANGIN, Oct 19: In its continuous effort to raise awareness on cleanliness to fight against the rapid spread of Covid-19 pandemic in Siang district, the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) volunteers along with Youth Club members of Pangin, Yeksi and Bibok organized a three-day “Clean Village, Green Village and Post Lockdown awareness campaign” at Pangin, Yeksi and Bibok from October 17 to 19.
Six new Youth Club/Self Help Group were formed and affiliated to Pasighat NYK to carry forward the campaign to every nook and corner of Siang district. Tree plantation and face mask distribution marked the campaign and sports materials were distributed to the newly formed youth club.
During the place to place campaign, District Youth Coordinator, Pasighat NYK, Tapun Taki informed that the campaign was launched to impress wearing of mask, social distancing and hand and respiratory hygiene to combat Covid-19 in post lockdown period with an aim to reach out to our unsuspecting rural people. The communication strategy had been developed in view of the coming winter season, which might be conducive to the spread of the virus, he said, adding that people also need to fight the social stigma associated with Covid-19.
