ITANAGAR, Apr 4: The NSS unit of Dera Natung Government College celebrated its ‘NSS Annual day’ programme on Monday with several captivating dance performances, a slide show presentation covering the different activities and programs and an alluring mime act portrayed by the volunteers on the theme of Swatch Bharat Abhiyan which completely amused the audience.
Programme officer Tao Abo emphasized the importance and relevance of NSS in society and briefly highlighted the activities conducted during the session. Chief Guest Dr. V.N Sharma State Liaison Officer, NSS cell explained the principles and objectives of NSS to the volunteers and exhorted them to become an agent of man making and nation building.
Joram Muthu who graced the occasion as Guest of honour handed over the certificates to the representatives and distributed the prizes to the winner.
The most significant part of the program was the release of the premiere NSS Newsletter titled ‘kamchi lela’ the name of which is derived from the local Nyishi dialect meaning ‘the dawn’. The Newsletter a first of its kind in the college garnered praise from the dignitaries.
