Longding, Dec 29: Deciding to relinquish the path of violence and embrace mainstream life, an NSCN (K-YA) cadre named Ganshai Pansa today surrendered before Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Longding Bani Lego.
When asked about the reason for taking the decision, the 52-year old cadre from Votnu village under Pongchao Circle informed that he wanted to give off the path of violence and made up his mind to surrender long time ago. As per the details available, Pansa joined the militant outfit in 1992 and this year decided to shun all its illegal activities and start a normal life. The final decision to surrender came after counselling from local police and relatives. The surrendered cadre brought with him a discharge certificate from the outfit he served. The DC-cum-DM while welcoming Pansa to the mainstream, encouraged him to start a new beginning besides issuing the caution not to return back to the path of violence again.
In a formal ceremony at the DC’s office, an official surrender certificate was issued to the surrendered cadre. DIPRO
