ITANAGAR, Apr 1: One self-styled sergeant of the NSCN (K) surrendered before Changlang district police, Indian Army and CRPF at Miao Police Station on March 30.
The individual identified as Tuman Havi, 28, of New Khamlang, Miao circle had joined the NSCN-K outfit in 2011 on being influenced by outfit cadres. He spent around 10 years of extreme hardship in outfit organization and finally decided to surrender before the district police to live a normal life in mainstream society.
This is outcome of relentless pursuit and effective counter insurgency operation carried out by joint team of police and security forces in the district which yielded the surrender of the cadre.
After completing all the formalities he will be handed over to his family for reintegration with mainstream society, informed Superintendent of Police, Changlang district, Mihin Gambo in a press release.
Earlier, one NSCN-K cadre of the same village had surrendered before police and security forces on February 9.
