KHONSA, May 20: In yet another instance of militants bidding goodbye to the path of violence, a NSCN (IM) cadre today surrendered voluntarily before District Magistrate-cum-DC, Tirap Taro Mize and 36 Bn CRPF.
The said cadre Langnam Bangsia who served the Naga Army is a permanent resident of Lamsa village under Khonsa PS. While surrendering before the authorities, Langnam informed that he joined the NSCN (IM) under the Pangmi region of Zasibituo Battalion in November 2005 and was discharged on medical grounds in January 2007. After making the official surrender the militant said he wants to live a normal life with family members in his village from now onwards.
The DM-cum-DC further informed that the cadre’s surrender has been accepted on the condition that if he is found involved in any illegal extortion or anti-national activities, he will be liable to be dealt with as per the appropriate provisions of law. DIPRO
