KHONSA, Mar 21: One suspected NSCN cadre was killed and another apprehended by Assam Rifles today at Kolagaon village in Tirap district. However, a civilian was also killed and another severely injured in the crossfire between Assam Rifles and suspected NSCN cadres.
The injured villager one Pakngam Lowang was  rushed to Dibrugarh in Assam for further medical treatment. Following the incident, public outrage was seen outside the General  Hospital, Khonsa when the body of the slain villager Reatto Kakho was brought for post mortem. Hundreds of villagers gheraoed the hospital and protested against the Assam Rifles.
Till the filing of this report, public gathering were still seen at the General Hospital Khonsa. Superintendent of Police of Tirap District could not be contacted for his comment on the incident.
