ITANAGAR, May 6: Policy for unemployed youths, Inter-state boundary issue and reintroduction of Old Pension scheme were some of the key issues that were taken as a resolution in the second State Executive Committee meeting of the state unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) held here today on Friday.
Addressing the media persons, General Secretary –NPP (State) Paknga Bage informed that, during its executive committee meeting, the party has resolved to submit a suggestion to the state government to initiate a separate state policy for the welfare of the unemployed youths. Youths are the future of the state and nation, so the need of the hour is for a proper policy for our youth to keep them engaged in a positive way, he said.
NPP has created three categories--illiterates, dropouts and graduate unemployed, accordingly, there should be a policy for them in every sector. Besides government jobs there should be proper policies to support or engage them accordingly. We also suggest job reservations for the APST youths in private sectors, said Bage.
On the Inter-State boundary issue, the NPP said it will never compromise on the boundary of Arunachal adding "We won’t spare any inch of our land."
NPP welcomes the decision of the Assam and Arunachal governments to solve the boundary issue out of court, but NPP urges the state government not to compromise the land of Arunachal. The party also advised to set up a Police Beat center at designated locations of the disputed areas to stop repeated encroachment and intrusion by Assam, the general secretary said.
The party further said the New Pension Scheme (NPS) is not favorable for government employees and urged the state government to re-introduce the Old Pension Schemes in its place.
