NEW DELHI, Aug 12: National President of NPP and Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad K Sangma on Thursday inaugurated the party’s office in the national capital in presence of Deputy CM Meghalaya Prestone Tynsong, Deputy CM Manipur Joykumar Singh and a host of party leaders from different parts of the country, which included Rajya Sabha MP Dr W R Kharlukhi and Lok Sabha MP Agatha K Sangma.
NPP being the eight national party in the country was allotted the party office by Government of India at 75 North Avenues.
During the inauguration, wife of late PA Sangma, Soradini K Sangma was also present, including former CM of Meghalaya and National Vice President Dr DD Lapang.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Conrad K Sangma dedicated the party office to his late father Purno Agitok Sangma.
He informed that the Government of India has allotted the party office to NPP for fulfilling the criteria as National Party status.  He also informed that NPP is one of the eight national political parties in the country.
“No political party from Northeast has ever achieved this level,” he said, while terming that the inauguration of the party office in Delhi is a great moment for the people of Northeast.
He also told the gathering that the NPP has been working with a focused approach to reach out to different parts of the country, wherever the vacuum for political leadership was required. 
He said that NPP has started its journey with focus from Northeast but is slowly expanding its reach for the greater cause of the minorities and the marginalised section of  society.
“In the coming days, NPP will further strengthen itself and will emerge as a major political forces and will ensure victory of the party in the election State of Manipur, which is slated for polls in 2022,” he said, while expressing confidence that the next Chief Minister in the State of Manipur will be from NPP.
He also welcomed various leaders from different political parties, who joined the party on Thursday and will contest for the upcoming election in the State of Manipur.
During the day-long programme in Delhi, National President Conrad K. Sangma held various review meetings with different States to further strengthen the party.
