LONGDING, Jul 10: The government of India is committed to the development of North East under Act East Policy and we see a sea change in all sectors, said  Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar while speaking to the media during his three days maiden visit to Tirap and  Longding districts on Sunday.
"Earlier there was Look East Policy but after Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government came to power in 2014 the union government has changed it to Act East Policy and it is very much effective," said the MoS.  In comparison to earlier days,  development can be witnessed everywhere and the North East is being given priority at par with other parts of country, added  Sarkar.
 “I am here for three days and will visit several parts of Tirap and Longding districts and will meet officials of various departments and will discuss with them about the working style and know about the schemes and policy of government implementation on the ground," he said.   
Minister RWD, Science & Technology Honchun Ngandam, Longding local MLA Tanpho Wangnaw, Jairampur MLA Laisam Simai, Longing DC Bani Lego, SP VHM Meena, senior officers, HoDs of the district, PRI leaders were also present on the occasion.
