ITANAGAR, Apr 29: North East Festival as a part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated from April 28 to May 4 in all the Northeastern States. The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region is the lead Ministry for these celebrations and it is being celebrated at the Regional and State level.
As part of the festival, a Panel Discussion on 'Welfare of Tribals and Development of Border Areas' will be held on Saturday at Dorjee Khandu Hall in the State Legislative Assembly which 
will be attended by Union MoS Home Nisith Parmanik as the chief guest and deputy chief minister Chowna Mein as guest of honour among a host of dignitaries.
The Department of Planning, GoAP in collaboration with the Ministries of Development of North East Region and North East Council, Government of India is organising the event  which will culminate on May 4, with special events commemorating the 50 years of constitution of the States and NEC.
