Aalo, Feb 11: The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Aalo, has issued a non-bailable warrant against social media influencer Ratna Maya Chetri and her associate Subhodir Ghosh in connection with multiple complaints filed against them.
The court directed the Officer-in-Charge of Aalo Police Station to take necessary action in accordance with the law to secure their presence. The matter has been posted for its next hearing on February 24.
As per court records, summons were initially issued on November 14, 2025, asking both accused to appear before the court on January 12, 2026, in response to complaints lodged before the CJM. However, neither Chetri nor Ghosh appeared on the scheduled date. Although Chetri’s counsel submitted a ‘vakalatnama’ on her behalf, the court noted their absence and adjourned the hearing to February 11.
On the subsequent date as well, both accused reportedly failed to appear, prompting the court to issue a non-bailable warrant to ensure their appearance.
The case arises from several FIRs lodged by the All Arunachal Pradesh Gorkha Welfare Society (West Siang Unit), along with a separate defamation complaint filed by the Aalo Area Students’ Union (AASU).
The complaints pertain to a viral video allegedly posted by Chetri, in which she and her associates are accused of making derogatory remarks about Aalo. The video sparked strong reactions among local residents and members of the Gorkha community, ultimately leading to formal legal proceedings.
