HUAKAN, May 3: Legendary Khappa Nocte singer of Huakan village,  Khomphua Sumnyan, passed away on Sunday after prolonged illness.
Chief of Huakan, Kamwang Lowang termed it an irreplaceable loss for the entire Nocte community. In her condolence message 56-Khonsa West MLA Chakat Aboh said that late Sumnyan was a custodian of Nocte Khappa folk song and fatherly figure for the people of entire Dadam area. His untimely death has shocked the entire people of Dadam area and is an irreparable loss, he said.
The last rites will be performed on Tuesday at Huakan village.
