Original WPC up for hearing in January, only IR application dismissed, says Nabam Tagam

ITANAGAR, Dec 18: Dismissing news reports of any relief for Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu from Supreme Court, Arunachal Justice Forum claimed that the original Writ Petition Criminal (WPC) is alive in SC and has been listed for hearing in  January next.
Clarifying that only application for Interim Relief (IR) has been dismissed, not the orignal WPC, President AJF, Nabam Tagam said,"SC pronounced that the hearing on the Original WPC would be taken up in the month of January next."
The case in question pertains to the infamous Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana (SGRY) embezzlement issue pending in the Supreme Court since 2010 over a PIL filed by Borang Lama in the Guwahati High Court way back in the year 2007. However, in April'21,  President, AJF, Nabam Tagam filed a fresh WPC on various corruption charges related to Khandu for a free and fair investigation through CBI.
The petitioner,  Tagam of AJF, through a press statement informed that the hearing of the case has been deferred countless times in the Supreme Court since April last, therefore a fresh Application seeking "IR" was applied but on December 14 last, the SC found and considered IR application repetitive since the Original Petition already had the same contents. "Hence,  fresh application for IR was dismissed," informed Tagam.
So the  news of the case being disposed-off, is absolutely misleading and is borne out of the sheer ignorance of the legal facts and figures relating to it, Tagam alleged. Further he  claimed, the contents and the status of the case WP (Crl) No. 000165/2021 is available in the Official Website of the Supreme Court of India which is available on http://main.sci.gov.in.
