ITANAGAR, Jun 21: Although there were no Covid-related casualties in the state on Monday, new cases marginally surpassed the recoveries. 
A total of 294 new cases (asymptomatic 162; symptomatic 131) were recorded with ICR leading with 59, followed by West Kameng 25, East Siang 20, Lower Subansiri 17 and Lohit, Longding and Upper Subansiri 16  each. Of the 270 new recoveries, West Kameng (43), ICR (35), Namsai (29), Changlang (24), Longding (23) and East Kameng (22) were the top  6 districts. The current load of Covid active cases has fallen further to 2539.  30677 individuals in the state have so far recovered and 159 succumbed to the virus. 5405 samples were collected from across the state on the day with a maximum from the ICR (1042).
On the first day of the Tika Maha Abhiyaan, a record 12297 beneficiaries under the 18-44 age slab were vaccinated, taking the coverage percentage to 24. 1095 in the 45+ segment took their 1st dose taking the coverage to 72% and 83 their 2nd dose (15% so far).
Occupancy status at the CCCs on Monday evening (8 pm): 41 at DCH Chimpu, 23 at SQF Lekhi, 2 at DCHC Midpu, 5 at DCH Pasighat and 14 at DCHC.
