Itanagar, Jan 2: No new COVID-19 case was reported on Sunday in Arunachal Pradesh with the tally remaining unchanged at 55,343, a senior health official said.
The death toll climbed to 282 after two more persons, one from Lohit and the other from West Kameng, succumbed to the infection, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
As many as 55,043 people have recuperated from the disease, the official said. The recovery rate in the frontier state stood at 99.46 per cent Arunachal Pradesh currently has 18 active cases.
Capital Complex – comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas — has the highest number of active cases at 14, followed by Tawang at two, West Kameng and Lohit at one case each.

As many as 12,05,238 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, including 47 on Saturday, Jampa said.
According to State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung, over 14.62 lakh people have been inoculated with anti-COVID vaccine thus far. (PTI)
