ITANAGAR, Sep 17: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today met a group of students pursuing higher education in the state in a candid interactive session here at Raj Bhavan.
Students from Rajiv Gandhi University, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology, National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh, Dera Natung Government College and Bini Yanga Government Women’s College enthusiastically participated in the seventh episode of this Governor-Students interaction. While exhorting them to imbibe nationalism, honesty and inculcate respect for rule of law, Governor spoke at length about Articles 370 & 35A that had recently been abrogated. Throwing light on the history of Kashmir ranging from Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s conquest of the region to the creation of Articles 370 & 35A, he opined that these provisions served little for the welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir and the nation. Welcoming their abrogation, he said that these provisions aided anti-national activities, segregated the people of J&K and resulted in violence in the state.
Negating the apprehension of the students about the continuance of Article 371H and Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873, Governor assured that Northeast has the full attention of the central government with Arunachal being the most favourite state. He reiterated that for the welfare of the state and respecting its sentiments, no action  will be initiated that will directly or indirectly harm the interests of the people. Cautioning the students against the three aspects of terrorism & violence, degradation of environment and population explosion, he advised them to fight against them tooth & nail.
Governor also asked them to change their mindset of seeking jobs only and become job providers instead through  entrepreneurship  and self-employment. PRO Raj Bhavan
