ITANAGAR, Dec 12: The 5th convocation of National Institute of Technology, Yupia was held in the institute’s premises today in a befitting manner. In his convocation address, the chief guest on the occasion Sanjay Hemant Inamdar, a first generation engineer and entrepreneur, congratulating the graduating students narrated his struggles and hardships during the formative years of his career as an entrepreneur and asked the students to face the odds and adversities with courage, sincerity and honesty.
During the course of his thought-provoking convocation speech, the chief guest enlightened the students through his personal stories and experiences and asked the students to be fully equipped and prepared to face the harsh world outside which was replete with challenges and hardships. He said that one must be prepared to take bold decisions and also calculated risks in order to succeed in any field. 
Inamdar opined that having a positive mindset can have a huge impact on happiness and success one would achieve in the future and asked the young students never to give up without a fight. He added that the world belongs to those who are positive in thought and those who dare and act. He further said that learning was a continuous process and urged the students to keep learning and contribute in nation building.
While participating in the deliberation, Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman, Board of Governors, congratulated all those who were receiving degrees and awards, expressed his happiness over the transformation of the state in all spheres and spoke glowingly about the chief guest Sanjay Hemant Inamdar who had come all the way from Maharashtra to grace the occasion to enlighten and enrich the students and faculty members of NIT, Yupia with his learned articulation.
He appreciated the students and faculty members for their sincere efforts in helping the higher institute of technical education grow by leaps and bounds and thanked the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and all those who had contributed towards the accelerated growth of the institute in all spheres.
While sharing his views on challenges faced by the youth vis-à-vis employment, Sahasrabuddhe said that the country needed to create not only employable engineers but also employment creating engineers. He aptly told the huge gathering that in order to build a vibrant, strong and self-reliant new India, the educational institutions have to have a right mix of knowledge creation, knowledge assimilation and dissemination, developing skills, values, attitude and finally application of knowledge.
Earlier, the Director of NIT Prof. Pinakeswar Mahanta welcoming the distinguished guests and invitees presented the annual reports of the institute through a power-point presentation. He also threw light on the various aspects of the institute including scopes and challenges.
Later, the Chairman of Senate distributed the Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees. The chief guest gave away the Gold and Silver medals to the meritorious students.
