ITANAGAR, Nov 12:  In a significant step towards empowering women in grassroots governance, the Department of Panchayati Raj, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has announced the reservation list for Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) posts ahead of the 2025 Panchayat elections.
The reservation was finalized following a draw of lots conducted on Wednesday in accordance with the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 2018, which ensures 33 percent reservation for women to strengthen their participation and leadership in local self-governance.
As per the outcome of the draw, nine districts have been earmarked under the women’s reservation category. These include West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, East Siang, Upper Siang, Lohit, and Anjaw.
