ITANAGAR, Jul 2:  At least 700 aspirants  under the banner of ‘Arunachal Pradesh Police  Compassionate  Aspirants Victims’  has sought  the intervention of  Chief Minister  and Home Minister to  direct the concerned department   to appoint  the aspirants  waiting for the last four years to be recruited under Arunachal Pradesh Police on compassionate ground against the advertisement issued on November 4, 2015.
Speaking to reporters at Press Club, Jaramu Miji, wife of Late K Miji lamented that despite submission of required documents and verification, the department is resorting to delaying tactics. “My husband was a constable in the police department who died in 2011 that too in Police Headquarters (PHQ) itself but since then we are getting dates after dates,” she added. We have even tried to meet the Director General of Police (DGP) many times but he refused to meet and listen to grievances, she said. Moreover, my husband was the only bread earner in the family and we have no other support to manage day to day life. The department should at least give us a clear indication about the said job, she asserted.
Briefing the apathy of  PHQ on the issue, another victim Nangbia  Yatub  said  “how can we raise our children with pension and who will take care of their studies and other basic amenities.”  Moreover, the officials in PHQ are also ignoring our grievances and even questioned us for visiting the headquarters, lamented Nangbia.

Since November 2018 we are trying to meet the Chief Minister but till date, they never paid heed to our   request, said another aspirant Nyaku Haging. He further divulged  that although physical tests and document verification processes were done in 2015,  communication is still awaited  from the department.  DPC meeting on the said issue was also cancelled seven times which shows that the department is playing with the emotion of the poor widows and kith and kin of its own staff, he added.

Present DGP, SBK Singh who is also the chairman  of the committee keeps refusing to meet the aspirants and to listen to their grievances,  stated  Haging. However, we are neither against anyone nor against the department but want the appointments at par with the advertisement of 2015, he stressed.
Meanwhile, the aspirants have also served a 15-day ultimatum to the concerned department, failing which they will resort to democratic movement  near the Secretariat.
