ITANAGAR, Dec 10: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today witnessed the foundation stone laying ceremony of the New Parliament Building on Sansad Marg in the national capital by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through virtual mode here from the Raj Bhavan.
Describing the new architectural splendour as the conceptual foundation of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision, the Governor said with optimum utilization of efficient green technology, environment-friendly process and Indian technical knowhow, the project will offer employment opportunities to many and usher in the aspirations of ‘New India’. He said the state-of-the-art unique triangular shaped and energy-efficient structure will be a befitting tribute to the freedom fighters on the 75th anniversary of the Independence Day in 2022, its expected date of completion.
The Governor congratulated the Prime Minister for making the new Parliament dream come true and for providing an ideal place to showcase the country’s rich culture and diversity. PRO Raj Bhavan
