ITANAGAR, Jul 16: Arunachal Pradesh on Friday recorded two deaths due to Covid that took the casualty tally to 199 and after a day’s gap, new cases again surpassed the recoveries.
Casualties
At DCHC Basar, a 70-yr old male Covid patient from Lepa Rada district died today due to ARDS coupled with Covid pneumonia. He was vaccinated with both the doses and was suffering from diabetes. An 83-yr old male Covid patient from LDV died at his residence in due to Covid pneumonia. He was suffering from heart disease and was not inoculated with any of the doses.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
A total of 443 new cases (asymptomatic 239; symptomatic 204) were recorded from across the state. With 16% positivity and 112 new cases, ICC retained the top position. Lohit (42), Lower Subansiri (36) and Tawang (27) followed next. In West Siang cases have again increased and 23 more were infected (positivity rate is now 8 %). A total of 356 recoveries were recorded and the first 4 districts were ICC (84), Kurung Kumey (34), East Siang (31) and Changlang (21). The state’s active caseload has now increased to 4262 and 37628 citizens have recovered so far. 5466 samples were collected in total from across the state.
Vaccination
5372 beneficiaries under the '18 years and above' age category were vaccinated on the day with the 1st dose(59 % coverage percentage). 3982 also received their 2nd shots (13% coverage so far).
Occupancy status
Till 8 pm on July 16, it was 46 at DCH Chimpu, 41 at SQF Lekhi, 3 at DCHC Midpu, 9 at DCH Pasighat and 22 at DCHC.
