AALO, Jul 23: Nigi and Dasi villages under Kodum Circle Nikte and Sector-A Gour Hill (Yomcha Complex) in West Siang have been declared as micro containment zones for ten days after detection of Covid cases from these places during contact tracing. 
A notification in this regard has been issued by Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson DDMA Moki Loyi. Liromoba Circle which was Covid free till the first week of July has also imposed a self-lockdown from July 22-August 1 after detection of 6 positive cases. Yomcha subdivision too has extended the lockdown for one more week to contain the spread. Despite taking the pandemic seriously through observance of restrictions and rituals since the 1st wave, rural parts of the district are witnessing a surge in positive cases that has brought concern to the inhabitants.
Meanwhile, Aalo police have assured to tackle the nuisance of gathering and partying along river banks in the outskirts of the township to check further spread of infection. DIPRO
